There are many different areas of the Creo View user interface that you use when viewing objects. Areas of the main interface include:
-
The Viewing Area — The graphical area where you can view, select, and manipulate 3-D models. This area may contain one or more individual windows that contain viewing objects.
-
The Ribbon — Provides access to a task-based set of functions. All of the commands can be found in tabs within logical groupings in the ribbon. Tabs are context-sensitive, and may display different icons based on what is selected, and from where. The ribbon is similar to the ribbon found in Microsoft Office 2010 products.
-
The File Menu — Enables file operations and provides access to Creo View properties. This menu is accessed by selecting the File tab in the upper-left corner of the Creo View application. Again, it is similar to that of the icon located in the Microsoft Office 2010 products.
-
Quick Access Toolbar — Enables you to access a common set of tools that is always available in the interface. You can customize this toolbar to contain almost any command available in Creo View. Similar to the quick access toolbar in Microsoft Office 2010 products, its default location is above the ribbon, but you can relocate it to below the ribbon.
-
Primary Panel — Located on the left side of the UI, the Primary Panel has multiple tabs along the top. The Viewables
displays available combination states and simplified representations. This panel is also referred to as the Viewables panel .
-
Upper Data Panel — Located to the right of the Primary Panel, the Upper Data Panel also has multiple tabs along the top. The Model Annotations
displays a list of all annotations created within the Creo Parametric model. If you enable the Design Check tool, the Design Check tab displays in this panel. This panel is also referred to as the Results panel .
-
Lower Data Panel — Located along the bottom of the UI, the Lower Data Panel contains and displays data related to the currently selected assemblies or components. This panel is also referred to as the Metadata panel .
-
Panel Display Icons — Located in the lower-left corner of the Creo View client, the Panel display icons enable you to toggle the different panels on and off to modify the size of the viewing area. Click Primary Panel
to toggle the Primary Panel on and off, click Upper Data Panel
to toggle the Upper Data Panel on and off, and click Lower Data Panel
to toggle the Lower Data Panel on and off.
