Figure 3 - Gtol Syntax Violation Sigmetrix provides the logic to check syntax for non-standard content when creating annotations. Syntax checking is automatically performed in real time for the following annotations:
-
Geometric Tolerances
-
Datum Targets
-
Datum Feature Symbols
If the text you type violates the logic specified by Sigmetrix, a caption displays and provides you a reason why the syntax was violated. The system even checks to make sure that the combination of symbols you have specified makes sense. For example, if you specify a datum reference for a flatness tolerance, the system alerts you to the fact that, according to the standards, you can’t specify a datum that the flatness is relative to.
The specific text or symbols that violate the logic is underlined in a red line, similar to that of a text spell checker. You may choose to update the text or symbols so that they no longer violate the syntax, or you may leave the text as-is if that is what is required to maintain your company standards.
