Merge combined states — Information that may typically be shown using two or more combined states can be shown in a single state.

Minimal schema.

Only non-standard dimensions: Only dimensions with GD&T are shown.

No basic dimensions are shown.

Reduces perceived model complexity.
Consider the following for minimally dimensioned parts:

Benefits — Fewer annotations are quicker and less costly to create.

Inspection planning — Consider the First Article Inspection (FAI) needs and methods for the product.

Steps

Task 1. Review combined states belonging to a minimally dimensioned Model. Disable all Datum Display types.

In the ribbon, select the Annotate tab. Select the D0_Model combined state tab.

Notice this state is unchanged.
- Select the D1_Map combined state tab. Notice this state now only indicates D7 as the one manufacturing definition state.
- Select the D2_General combined state tab. Notice this state now has the D0_Default state (proprietary notices) incorporated.
- Select the D3_Properties combined state tab. Notice this state is unchanged.
- Select the D4_Notes combined state tab. Notice this state is unchanged.
- Select the D5_Datums combined state tab. Notice this state is unchanged.
- Select the D7_Non-Standard combined state tab. Notice this is the only state with GD&T callouts.

Select the Default All combined state tab.

In the ribbon, select the Model tab.
