Figure 3 - Annotation Plane Definition In addition to using default annotation planes, you can create custom annotation planes to suit the current model. Create and then configure the annotation planes using various options.

Launch the Annotation Plane Manager from the Annotation Planes group dialog box launcher in the ribbon. Within the Annotation Plane Manager dialog box, you can:

  • Set an annotation plane to be active.

  • Remove an annotation plane from display in the gallery.

  • Create a new annotation plane.

  • Edit an existing annotation plane.

  • Delete an annotation plane.

  • Choose to reorient the model when an annotation plane is set to be active.

  • Display the grid and adjust grid spacing.

Use the Annotation Plane Definition dialog box to configure a new annotation plane, or to edit an existing annotation plane. Within the Annotation Plane Definition dialog box, you can:

  • Enter a name for the annotation plane.

  • Select a model surface or datum plane to create an annotation plane.

  • Use an existing named model orientation (saved view) to define the annotation plane.

  • Orient the annotation plane flat to the screen.

  • Flip the viewing direction (blue arrow).

  • Input an angle for the text rotation (red arrow).

  • Freeze the annotation plane reference.

  • Place annotations on the reference plane.

  • Define an annotation plane by selecting an existing annotation.

Once created, you can drag an annotation plane icon to any position within the gallery in the ribbon. Click the down arrow to expand the gallery if needed.
