Figure 2 - Viewing Color-Coded Information An example of a schema used within MBD is the naming conventions for combined states. This schema, developed in 2010, uses a prefix of MBD, followed by a number, to organize the information contents in a consistent, alphanumeric fashion. The organizational schema was developed and vetted by many people in industry to provide a common means to find information that had existed on a conventional drawing. Simpler versions of the schema have evolved, and will be discussed at length in this course.
