Figure 2 - Hyperlink Added to a Document
Figure 3 - Hyperlink Launched You can add a document hyperlink or Web site to a note. The document can either be to a local or shared drive, Windchill PDMLink, a Web site, and so on. Copy the URL from the location, then select a note, right-click, and select Edit Link. In the Edit Hyperlink dialog box, paste the link into the field. You can also click ScreenTip and add a tooltip to be displayed when you cursor over the note.
To launch the hyperlink, press CTRL and click the note. The URL is opened in Creo Parametric’s browser. If the link points to a document, you can save the document locally.
Editing the Note Text Display
Once a hyperlink is added to the note, the note becomes underlined, by default. You can edit the note display by selecting the note, right-clicking, and selecting Text Style. You can then modify the note text style as desired. To remove the underlining, clear the Underline check box. You can also edit the note display within the Format tab in the ribbon.
Best Practices
Best practice is to link every note in the Site Map to the corresponding combination state. This way you can quickly navigate to the desired combination state simply by clicking its note. Each combination state should have a note that links back to the Site Map combination state.
