Figure 2 - Reference Documents A Schema for MBD is the naming convention for combined states, which enables you to organize model information. The schema is typically standardized to create a common place to find model data that is consistent across model types.

An example schema table is shown in Figure 1. Combined states MBD0 through MBD5 are typically set up in the MBD start part. MBD7 is typically used for general dimensions required for manufacturing operations.

Schema notation may be verbose, minimal, or numeric only, as shown in the following examples:

  • Verbose — MBD0_Default

  • Minimal — D0_Default

  • Numeric — 0_Default
