Figure 3 - Generic, Machined, Unmachined (With Value) You can quickly create surface finish annotations from defined symbols. Surface finish marks, as part of PMI (Process and Manufacturing Information) should be displayed in one of the 7-series combined states.

There are three default types of symbols, each having its own graphical representation:

  • Generic

  • Machined

  • Unmachined or rough

Surface finish symbols come either with or without a value for the roughness height which can be edited.

You can use the Normal to Entity option to freely locate surface finish symbols on an annotation plane or model surface. You can also place a surface finish symbol with leaders referencing model surfaces.
